Since March 2020 the majority of translated SC judgments were Service and Ordinary Civil Law Matters.

Apart from 2017, the total number of pending cases at the SC increased every year from January to December.

Pendency of cases at the SC has increased in 2021 by 7.3%. Currently 69,555 cases are pending.

Since 2017, there have been 88 recommendations for transfers of HC judges and Chief Justices, 33 of which were issued on Sept 16th 2021.

Data reveales that High Court judges who were advocates hold more Supreme Court positions than those from the subordinate judiciary.

43.6% of HC judges have been appointed from the subordinate judiciary and the remaining 56.4% were appointed directly from the Bar.

The Supreme Court has translated only 31 judgments since March 1st 2020 and is translating them into fewer languages.
