Court Reporter (Delhi)

The Court Reporter will be SCO’s eyes and ears at the Supreme Court of India. They will identify cases which have the potential to significantly impact the development of law or otherwise impact the general public. To do this, the Court Reporter is expected to build and be in regular contact with an extensive network of lawyers and clerks working at the top court.

The Court Reporter will attend regular hearings for significant cases at the SC. They will write and communicate reports of hearings, case background pages, petition summaries, and plain English explanations of judgments and key orders. The Court Reporter will maintain and grow SCO’s repository of documents in tracked cases as well.

The Court Reporter will regularly produce content for the Analysis section including sharp, concise and accessible analytical pieces, quantitative analysis of the Court and podcasts on important judgments. The Reporter will additionally write material for other sections of the website such as Supreme Court judge profiles and plain language guides to Court procedure.

The role requires the Court Reporter to be based in New Delhi.

Social Media Editor

The Social Media Editor will create a clear and unique social media voice for SCO. They will develop strategies to build an engaging and interactive social media presence. This includes planning, editing, and scheduling content for platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Spotify and others, while also working with the editorial team to create exclusive content for these channels. The editor will also write and edit newsletters, ensuring they are delivered on time. They will edit multimedia reports and photographs, and design templates for social media posts.

The Social Media Editor will also track analytics and study the impact of social media dissemination no a monthly basis and develop strategies based on the readings. They will also engage with users or members. Working with the editorial team, the Social Media Editor will develop and execute strategies to increase website readership, boost social media and newsletter engagement, and grow the subscriber base using both new and older content. Additionally, the editor will design visuals and infographics to accompany articles and reports published by the SCO team and engage with comments and feedback from readers and subscribers.

They will also coordinate video and podcast recordings, edit videos and where applicable, coordinate with external video editors and other vendors.

Internship Programme

Our full-time in-person internship programme gives recent graduates and students the opportunity to get hands-on experience in legal research and journalism and conducting logistical and administrative tasks. The programme is designed to provide interns with opportunities for learning and developing their skills in writing, research, and reportage.

The intern will assist in the production of content for the website and in collecting and processing data on the Court. Interns will also be required to assist with social media dissemination, administrative work as well.
