Re-instituting Previous Directions
On May 7th 2021 the bench of Ramana CJ, Nageswara Rao and Surya Kant JJ delivered an order. This order mandated that the High-Powered Committee previously set up must release all the inmates who were released earlier pursuant to the order dated March 23rd 2020. This order was delivered in light of the second wave of the pandemic and 90% of those released being returned in February and March.
